Daisy's Story

Meet Daisy —

Daisy is a beautiful Blue Heeler who has found her way to our shelter and is now looking for a family who will appreciate her loving, and adventurous spirit.

Daisy has spent her entire life living in the country. Unfortunately, her strong prey drive and instinct to chase animals have gotten her into trouble. She has a history of chasing livestock and small animals, so Daisy is not a suitable match for a home with livestock, farm animals, cats, or other small animals.

Despite this challenge, Daisy is an incredibly sweet girl who loves people and thrives on attention. She has been around children and is friendly with everyone she meets.

Daisy has always been an outdoor dog, so we're not yet sure how she will adjust to living inside a home. When we have given her quiet time in the office (away from the kennels), she is hesitant to go outside on leash. When given patience, she overcomes her apprehension and goes outside. We don't have this issue with her in the kennels.
That said, she will not make a mess in the office.
She is a smart dog, and with patience, consistency, and positive guidance, we believe she could learn the ropes quickly!

A home with a fenced-in yard would be ideal for Daisy. Or an acreage that has no livestock! Apartment living would not be an option for this dog!

If you're looking for a companion to keep you active, join you on adventures, or ride along beside you in the side-by-side, or just lounging around watching a game... Daisy could be your dog!

Daisy may not be the right fit for every home, but for the right family, she could be an incredibly special companion. She deserves someone who understands her instincts, can keep her safe, and will give her the love, attention, and direction she needs to thrive.
