DAISY's Story

Daisy is a 5 year old spayed female pit mixed breed dog currently living with her family in Cumberland, Rhode Island. She is a goofy, smart, sweet, and cuddly companion. She would do best in an adult only home as she does much better with calm and stability. Loud, unpredictable children cause her anxiety and stress. A well mannered, calm, larger dog could work out well for her to have a pet sibling. She would also be very content as the only pet in the home. She appears too interested in cats to live with them. <br/><br/>Daisy is very sensitive to sounds like yelling/ shrieking or moving children, fireworks, thunder or gun fire in distance so physical location of her new home <br/>should also be considered- if it's near a gun range or hunting or partying, firework loving neighbors- that wouldn't be best for her.<br/><br/>Daisy needs an active owner who will enjoy taking her on daily walks through the neighborhood. Bonus points for those that like to explore parks or go on short weekend hikes. A fenced in yard is not necessary since she does well on the leash but having some sort of yard with a long leash even if a small yard is ideal for her. <br/><br/>Daisy has so much love to give and deserves to thrive. She loves all the attention, cheese, and belly rubs. "<br/><br/>This sensitive , loving soul deserves the right home where she can have stability and thrive. <br/><br/>If interested please contact Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org

The Rescue Express's Adoption Policy
All potential foster families and adopters are required to fill out an application, both of which can be found on our website. Our foster families are our biggest resource, and the more foster families we add to our family, the more dogs we can save. Our foster families are required to provide a loving, healthy, temporary home for the dogs that we have pulled from shelters who have yet to find their forever families. The rescue covers all medical expenses while our dogs are in foster care. We also require our foster families to work with one of our trainers to address any behavioral problems that develop.
