Lucky's Legacy Rescue's Adoption Policy

At Lucky’s Legacy, Inc., we strive to ensure that every pet is placed in a safe, loving, and permanent home. Our adoption process is designed to match our animals with responsible adopters who can provide lifelong care. Eligibility Requirements 1) Age Requirement: Adopters must be at least 21 years old. 2) Residency: Must provide proof of stable housing (rental agreements must allow pets). 3) Household Agreement: All household members must be aware of and agree to the adoption. 4) Pet Policy Compliance: If renting, written landlord approval is required. 5) Home Environment: Must meet the pet’s needs, including space, safety, and activity level. Adoption Process 1) Application Submission: Complete an adoption application with personal and veterinary references. 2) Application Review: Our team will assess applications to find the best match for both pet and adopter. 3) Meet-and-Greet: Approved applicants will meet the pet in a supervised setting. 4) Home Check (if applicable): A virtual or in-person home visit may be required. 5) Adoption Fee: Fees help cover medical care, vaccinations, and other rescue costs. Adoption Agreement: A legally binding contract ensuring the pet’s well-being. Post-Adoption Requirements 1) Pet Returns: If the adoption does not work out, the pet must be returned to Lucky’s Legacy, Inc. 3) Veterinary Care: Adopters must provide routine vet care, including vaccinations and wellness checks. 4) No Rehoming: Pets may not be transferred to another owner without rescue approval.
