See he came to us early last summer. He was in a group of nine, the rescue person had permission to bring over 4, she brought nine and left quick before I could yell at her. I went and got the vaccines and started down the line until I got to him. OY BOY, he was a pile of bones, looked nothing like his siblings. Weight wise, I pulled him. Tested for parvo, negative so he was going to be my buddy. I carried him everywhere, feeding him everything I could. He finally put on weight and was allowed to play with his siblings outside.

He moved foster homes and that foster adopted him and stopped fostering for us. We assumed all was well. Until it wasn't. I received a call from Idaho saying Cyrus was tied to a tree and now at the shelter and can I come and get him. Some back and fourth and it went quiet. A few days later I was told the new owner had picked him up? I reached out to the adopter during this time and she said she rehomed him. But she didn't know to who. A rescue reached out from that area and said the adopter called her trying to hand her Cyrus and another dog, but before they could connect Cyrus was left and the shelter picked him up. We are not sure through if the adopter or the new adopter actually called the rescue.

So a few weeks went by and again I assumed all was well, but I knew deep down he was coming home.

I got an email. The new owner was arrested and got to take Cyrus with her. She was released from the jail and they wouldn't release Cyrus. She broke Into the jail to get Cyrus and she was re-arrested and Cyrus taken to the shelter. (this is filed under stuff I can't make up)

I drove seven hours one way to get him.

In our contracts we state we take our dogs back. We may need some time to find a foster or get him listed. The first adopter lives 15 minutes from me. She was a foster, she knew our rules. Yet chose to take Cyrus seven hours and hand him off. Apparently she has family in the area.

I love this dog more than anything. He probably would have died without landing with me and me caring for him the way I did to get him fat and healthy. Clearly they adored him if he was worth breaking into jail for. Because he couldn't be used for breeding, we are 100% fixed.

Cyrus is looking for his new amazing home. A fenced yard. He is in a play group here with two other dogs and does fine. I probably wouldn't put him with cats. Even though he was raised with cats with me, I don't think the adopter had cats and he has forgotten cats are our friend. He loves bones, and pig ears and treats. He is kennel trained.

Cyrus is Neutered, current on DAPP, the shelter updated his rabies. Cyrus is now two years old.

Cyrus requires a fenced yard.

Cyrus's meet and greet will be in Centralia/Rochester. If you would like to meet Cyrus in person, you will need to be willing to travel to Centralia/Rochester.

Cyrus's adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED.

An approved application and an appointment are required.

If interested in meeting Cyrus, please submit an application by copying/pasting this link into your browser:

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001
