Cypress

Cypress is a brindle and white pit mix, about a year old and roughly 55 pounds, right at that age where the puppy energy is still there but the grown dog is starting to show up underneath it.<br/><br/>If you want to know what makes Cypress happy, hand him a ball. Fetch is the whole world to him. He will chase, bring it back, and ask you to do it again for as long as you are willing, and he is at his very best when he has a job like that to focus on. A family who likes to be outside and does not mind throwing a ball until their arm gives out is going to fit him perfectly.<br/><br/>He already knows sit, and he is a smart dog who catches on quickly. Leash skills are the piece he is still working on. He pulls when he gets excited, which is most of the time at the shelter, and he would do well with an adopter who keeps up with that training and turns walks into part of the routine. A basic obedience class would be a great use of his first few months in a home.<br/><br/>Cypress has not yet been tested with other dogs or with cats, so we would want to set up a slow, supervised meet and greet with any resident dog before he goes home.
