Meet Cupcakes
Cupcakes was surrendered to the North Central Shelter back in August because his former human could not afford the medical care needed to remove a lame leg.
He sat in the shelter for 4 months, and the muscle in his leg continued to atrophy and he started to develop sores on the lame leg as well as his hind legs. In addition, he began to lose weight due to stress, despite extra feedings. This little boy was struggling.
Cupcakes has had a leg amputation surgery and recovered safely in his foster home. He has been medically cleared and we've begun his socialization. Cupcake has been called a "nice boy, good natured and curious".
He went for his first swimming lesson and ended up loving it. Because he liked interacting with the few dogs he was able to do so with at the shelter, he is also participating in playgroups now and thriving.
This boy is beyond sweet, loving, smart and deserving of a home to call his very own.
