Cumberbatch (“CB”) is the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle bug. He loves to romp around the yard, toss around his favorite toys, and soak up all the attention he can get; he also loves belly rubs included! He's incredibly social with people and truly believes there are no strangers, just friends he hasn't met yet.<br/><br/>His daily routine is already well established; he's house trained, crate trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. He enjoys a mix of walks and yard playtime throughout the day, along with his twice-daily meals and favorite enrichment treats like frozen Kongs filled with goodies (pumpkin, yogurt, peanut butter, and bananas are a big hit!). While he currently roams freely in his foster's basement during the day, he's comfortable in his crate and settles nicely when it's time to rest.<br/><br/>As a young, strong, and energetic guy, Cumberbatch is still learning some of the basics—like polishing up his leash manners and building confidence with things like car rides. He can be a little unsure in new situations, but he's making steady progress with positive guidance. He also has a playful, “mouthy” way of showing affection (think gentle nibble kisses), and he responds well to clear, consistent redirection as he continues to learn his manners. He's food-motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you.<br/><br/>Cumberbatch's ideal home is an active one with adults or older children who can match his energy and continue guiding him as he grows. A securely fenced yard (5–6 ft) is a must so he can safely run and play. He would do best as the only pet or possibly with a confident, high-energy female dog who enjoys a more rowdy play style with slow, thoughtful introductions are key. Because of his prey drive, a home without cats or small animals will be the best fit.<br/><br/>This loyal, fun-loving boy is ready for his fresh start with a family who will continue to help him build confidence and enjoy life to the fullest.
