This gorgeous 3-year-old Lab/Pit mix has been with us since November 2022, when she narrowly escaped the euthanasia list at an Oregon shelter. She was just a pup at the time, and from the moment we met her, her joy for life was undeniable – wiggly body, happy kisses, and a heart ready to love.<br/><br/>Over the past three years in foster care, Crystal has blossomed into a happy, playful, and affectionate dog who thrives in the company of other dogs. She is truly a dog’s dog – happiest when she’s outside, running and wrestling with her four-legged friends. Her playful spirit shines brightest when she has a canine buddy to keep her company, and having another dog has completely stopped her old fence-jumping habit.<br/><br/>Crystal’s Ideal Home Will Have:<br/>*Another friendly, active dog to play with<br/>*A fenced yard for running and outdoor fun (5ft or taller would be best)<br/>*A family who understands high-energy breeds and will continue her training and routines<br/>***No small animals (she has a high prey drive)<br/>*Older kids or adult-only home (she’s a jumper when excited and could knock over small children)<br/><br/>Life With Crystal<br/>Crystal is crate trained and actually loves her crate – it’s her safe place to rest and reset after a busy play session. She does best when her family uses the crate as a calm-down space and helps her pace herself, as she sometimes forgets to rest. Inside the house, she benefits from clear boundaries (a leash indoors can help at first) to keep her excitement in check.<br/><br/>She’s smart, loves treats, and enjoys puzzle toys like Kongs and busy bones. On walks, she’s great with her prong collar and enjoys getting out to explore.<br/><br/>And when the playing is done? Crystal transforms into a snuggly lovebug who wants nothing more than to curl up with her people, give kisses, and soak up affection.
