So if you see a Frisbee flying, a tunnel with a dog (or human) going through or what appears to be a big stuffed dog laying still on the floor, come on in and say hi to Cruz (an adoptable dog through Give a Dog a Home Rescue ) He is sweet, goofy, smart and loves everyone!

Yesterday he had quite an adventure. After leaving his new friends behind at our home we stopped at Dunkin for some human breakfast. He did not even beg for any from L while riding in the back with her.

We popped into the store for a little bit where we tried some dog training toys and said hi to some mall walkers. Went to the 2 pet stores where we browsed. Cruz sniffed at products but never attempted to snag any. Headed to City Forest for a walk.

He does so well on leash. Whenever another dog passed of course he wanted to say hi but we all easily controlled our pups and kept moving forward. After the walk we headed back home (Cruz fought sleep all the way home) to get the rest of the gang to go back to town for basketball practice and a board meeting. Cruz hung out in the store during the meeting, crashed hard at the closed gate and gave passerbys something to giggle about.

Once back at home (an unfamiliar home prior to the night before when he came) he settled in, played with Sir Double , then crashed for the entire night.

Cruz is so easy going, smart, listens well, easily redirected, loves snuggles and I think he has barked once in the almost 2 days he has been hanging with us.

He is looking for his forever home and forever person. Please share my very long post CRUZ is a sweet love bug, he has so much affection, he loves to wrestle and chase with his friends and then snuggle up or hang out when they need to recharge their batteries.

He loves everyone he meets and would be very responsive to training. Give a Dog a Home Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you would like to start the adoption our process is below: Please note the rescue is run by a volunteer and is very busy. Do NOT constantly email or phone, if you need to email or call, please send just one communication and wait for someone to respond. Submit Application with two personal references and a vet reference. If you have never had pets and do not have a vet, we will need THREE personal references. Ensure references are people who know you and your lifestyle well. Applicant MUST inform vet and references that someone from GaDaH will be calling. As long as we are able to contact your vet and references, it takes just 1-3 days to process and hopefully approve applications. If you rent we will need an approval letter for the breed of dog you are wanting to adopt from your landlord on official letterhead paper or email. Rescue processes and hopefully approves applications. Once approved, rescue invites applicant to come to the rescue to meet your chosen dog/s, spend time with him/her and then hopefully take him/her home. We do NOT hold dogs so if you are unable to come within a week or so of submitting your application the dog will still be available for adoption to other families. For Canadian adopters, all that is needed to get them across the border into Canada is a current rabies certificate and proof of adoption, which is the adoption contract. Both of which are included in the medical file you will get when you adopt. (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel/by-country/pettravel-canada) Ensure ALL Fields are filled in, if something is relevant, then put n/a or something in so it recognizes an entry. We do not recommend using a phone or ipad since these applications for some reason don't tend to come through and you will have spent a lot of time on the application for nothing as it will need to be re-done. Once we have you approved we can schedule an appointment for you to come to meet him/her at the rescue in Sebec, Mane and then hopefully take them home to start your new life. I just have to work on an appointment basis as I run a boarding/day care business and the rescue and so am really busy, but by planning ahead of time I can be pretty flexible.
