Crouton's Story

? Meet Crouton – The Little Puppy Who Beat the Odds

Crouton’s story almost ended before it even began. He arrived at a high-kill shelter as a tiny puppy—under eight weeks old—and because of his age, he had only until the end of that same day to find a placement or face euthanasia. We couldn’t let that happen. We stepped in, and we are so glad we did.

Today, Crouton is thriving. He’s a stunning little mixed-breed pup with a bright, curious personality and a heart full of love. He’s about 10 weeks old now and soaking up the world like a sponge. We’ve been working hard to give him all the right early experiences—socializing him with dogs, cats, and people, taking him out in public, and helping him learn how to be confident wherever he goes. He’s handled it all beautifully.

Crouton has done especially well with cats and other dogs. He loves to play, explore, and be part of the action—but what he loves most is being close to his person. He’s affectionate and responsive, already picking up on recall and showing how smart and eager to please he is. He’s also doing great with his crate training and settles nicely once inside, which is a wonderful foundation for house training and structure.

We’re not sure exactly how big Crouton will get, but he’s on the smaller side right now. He’ll likely grow into a medium to medium-large dog—just the right size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between.

This little survivor is ready to start his forever life with someone who will love him as much as we do. He’s been through enough uncertainty for one lifetime. Now, he just needs a place to call home.

Please text 661-364-8844 to learn more!
