MY AGE: approx. 3 yrs. WEIGHT: approx. 20 lbs.

MY STORY: 12/21 We had encouraging words from the cardiologist yesterday. Crouton did not need a belly tap. The last one was Sept. 6. An ultrasound showed a small amount of fluid in her abdomen. The plan for her is to wait another 3-6 months and evaluate her abdomen again. The medications too will remain the same to maintain her stable condition.

12/6 Crouton is a pretty, 3 year old, Shih Tzu mix. She has a lovely, soft white and gray coat, dark eyes, and charming underbite. Maybe you remember Crouton gave birth to 9 puppies earlier this year and soon became ill. She developed a bacterial infection that affected her heart valve. She was treated with antibiotics and other meds and is now her health is quite stable. Through all of this Crouton remains cheerful and friendly. The staff at U.W. Veterinary Clinic love her. She has a medium energy level and loves to play in the fenced yard, running, and hunting rabbits. She also is a snuggler and enjoys belly rubs. She is housebroken and gets along well with her canine brother. At my Thanksgiving celebration she was great with the children, ages 2, 4, 6, and 8 years old.

The down side is that Crouton will be on medications the rest of her life. The cost of these meds is approx. $85. per month. She takes her pills in a small ball of canned food without a problem. Occasionally she requires a belly tap for fluid in her abdomen for a cost of $120. (abdominocentesis)
This sweet girl is so ready for a loving home and family.
