Cricket's Story

Cricket is a funny, hip-hoppy little man with the biggest ears. Born with one femur drastically shorter than the other, his gait is a little different. Don't let that fool you: Cricket is just as playful and quick as his friends. Cricket is one of those dogs with excellent emotional awareness. He knows when you need extra cuddles and also when it's okay to be extra sneaky and push your buttons. He is goofy and a little mischievous, but the sweetness outweighs all mischief. Cricket loves all people, including children. He is crate trained and mostly nondestructive around the house (we lost one charger to a curious nibble!). He is a very quiet pup and shares very well with other dogs. Cricket would benefit from occasional trips to the doggy chiropractor to make sure his physical differences don't negatively impact his spine over time. We have seen first hand that Cricket's love is worth the little bit of extra care to keep him happy and comfortable long-term. Cricket is fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.

Could this big-eared boy be your new best friend? Apply to meet her at CRAPrescue.org/application.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Cricket's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.

Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
