Meet Cricket

This tiny little senior was found curled up in a ball on what is normally the very busy E. Broadway, in Long Beach. But the only reason this sweet boy is still alive is because it was 5 AM and no one was out driving, except a Good Samaritan...and she quickly put him in her car.

When RGR first met Cricket, he was missing fur, had horribly infected eyes and ears, was dangerously underweight at 9 pounds, and he had a mouth full of rotten teeth, but he also had spirit, and lots of it. This gentleman is a fighter and has met all of his health speed bumps with dignity, and shows genuine gratitude for the care he receives. We are happy to report that he now weighs a healthy 12 pounds, has lots of hair growing in on his back, and--happily--has less than 10 teeth left - he's feeling SO much better!

While Cricket is severely vision impaired (likely mostly blind from years of chronic dry eye and neglect), his fosters describe him as "the easiest, sweetest, cutest, most even-tempered little pickle in all the land!" And we whole-heartedly agree because with every new piece of information we find out about him, the more in love we fall!

This approximately 10 year-old Pomeranian/Terrier mix is potty trained, gets around quite well once he gets acquainted with a new space, gets along with cats and dogs, and enjoys suckling his squeaker toys for hours everyday! And yes, you read that correctly. Cricket is a master at suckling his toys in times of decompression and excitement!

Cricket dreams of an adult only, quiet home, with lots of soft beds and blankets for him to relax his days away in, and with someone who's home most of the day. Oh, and his favorite toys, Ms. Porky and Choppy, absolutely have to be there, as well. No negotiating!
