Creme Brulee's Story

Creme Brulee is a young, sweet, and truly one-of-a-kind pup with a heart as soft as her name suggests. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly, and brings a happy, bubbly energy everywhere she goes. She's a special girl with a beautiful spirit, looking for a home that will love her exactly as she is and cheer her on as she grows.

HISTORY
Creme Brulee was found alone in an area commonly known for dumping unwanted pets in Grandview, WA. She came to HART at about 4 months old.

Creme Brulee is fostered in Tri-Cities, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. She is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet her before you decide she should join your family!

SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING
Creme Brulee is a gentle natured puppy who just wants to please her people. CB has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) and is mostly hearing impaired, which gives her a unique and endearing way of moving through the world. She has a noticeable head tilt/wobble and often walks or trots in gentle circles-but she's adapted beautifully and doesn't let it dim her joy or curiosity.

CB is currently learning house manners and doing well overall. She is still figuring out leash walking, but she does great in the car and is crate trained and mostly potty trained. She would love a playful canine companion who can match or patiently handle her enthusiastic puppy energy and help guide her as she continues to learn.

In her foster home, she is learning hand signs to help with her training. When she transitions to a new home, we will ensure to share these signs with you. She is fostered with dogs, cats, and a toddler.

Creme Brulee is still just a baby and is eager to learn how to be a wonderful family dog. She would benefit greatly from puppy classes where she can learn basic skills while building confidence and strengthening the bond with her new family.

It's important to remember: Creme Brulee is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! She is just getting started and still has sharp nails, needle teeth, and a love for pouncing on anything that moves. Shoes, toys, socks, and dangling strings are all fair game in her world. She still has everything to learn about living in a mostly human household and will need patient guidance as she grows.

She will likely trip you, piddle on your rug, and chew something she shouldn't at some point. That's all part of raising a puppy! Please do not apply to adopt Creme Brulee unless you are ready to invest the time, patience, and energy needed to help her grow into a well-mannered adult dog.

HEALTH STATUS

General info
Creme Brulee is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and she is pending spay. At full grown, she will likely weigh around 45-50 lbs.

CB has been evaluated by a vet in order to diagnose her cerebellar hypoplasia and her hearing impairment. While she is not believed to be fully deaf, she is pretty significantly impaired.

ADOPTION
The adoption fee for Creme Brulee is $425. Our process starts with an online application and may take a few days to a week to complete. We appreciate your patience while we do our part.

To apply to adopt Creme Brulee, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA-A-97 or email HearthfireART@gmail.com
to request an adoption application form.

HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
