Crash's Story

Meet your future cuddle buddy, Crash! Crash is a 6 year old (best guess) German shepherd/lab mix. He is as sweet, loyal, and handsome as can be! He is obsessed with cuddling and soaking up all the love he can get, but can also hang out by himself and chill! Crash loves snuggling in bed at night or sleeping on the couch by himself. He's a versatile buddy with an amazing temperament- he's ready for a day of adventures or a day of napping on the couch! Crash has truly never met a stranger. He loves going on walks and will do a happy dance when you bring out his leash . Crash has a silly side too- he has a cute habit of bringing you his food and water bowls when they're empty to ask for more. He knows basic commands like sit, down, and touch.

Crash is kid friendly, but does like his space respected (ie he would not like children climbing on him) so he would do best with kids 12 and older, or kids who are dog savvy. He is dog and cat friendly, and did well with all the dogs he met during playtime when he was boarded while his foster family was on vacation. He is currently living with 4 other dogs and a cat, however, Crash will need to eat separate from other dogs, but he will happily run to his crate at mealtime and wait for you to bring him something yummy. He would prefer a calmer dog friend who isn't always in his face, but really, he would just be happy with a human to snuggle with.

Because Crash is so friendly, he's figured out how to hop his foster families 6 foot fence in order to say hi to the people and dogs who walk by. Because of this, he will always need to be leash walked or on a tie out with supervision.

Crash is in good health. He's up to date on vaccines, negative for heart worm, microchipped, and neutered.

https://www.midwestk9rescue.org/adoption/

We have a thorough application that is completed by the applicant. This includes number and age of people in household, hours away from the home, other pets in the home, and yard type (enclosed, community, etc.) Once we receive this information, we do a vet reference check for existing pets which must be current and up to date on vaccines AND spayed/neutered. We complete a public background check, auditor check (or) do a landlord verification for pet policy confirmation and a phone screen with the applicant before a meet and greet is set up. If for any reason we are not comfortable with or feel that the applicant is not a suitable match for our pet, then we will not complete the adoption.
