Coyote IN FOSTER's Story
1/25 Coyote update:
This weekend, our dogs are living their best foster lives during the winter storm. 🏡🐾
We're sharing a peek at some of our pups enjoying cozy couches, toys, and all the love. Many of these sweet faces will be heading back to us this week, now extra ready for their forever person after getting a taste of home life.

Meet Coyote!❤️🩹
This boy is likely spending time inside a home for the first time in his 1 year on this Earth. He's been in a weekend foster home for 2 nights now. He hasn't come out of his shell fully, but he is showing peeks of learning how to act as a loved and cherished indoor dog.

Coyote loves to gather his toys and keep them close. It checks with a pup who's never really had anything of his own. Chew toys are his favorites! He loves to chew!
He is guardedly playful...always watching everything else going on around him to determine whether he should flee. If it's fight or flight, Coyote is ready to fly.

He'll currently only go in and out of a home with help and coaxing on leash, but once he's outside, he loves to run and play chase! It's adorable to see him open up and play.

According to his foster dad, he seems to be good around cats, goats, and chickens.
He may be more scared of them than they are of him.

Coyote will need a patient human to hep him grow to trust. He needs someone willing to teach him how to be a dog. To offer him security and consistency. He's the type of dog who will flourish to be that dog of a lifetime in the right home. And ultimately, the work to get him there would be worth every single second.

Coyote will likely be back at our shelter after the storm. To meet him, fill out an application online and someone will reach out to you about him --> https://www.moaspets.com/adoptionapp
Or pop by the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, Wednesday-Saturday, 12-5pm or Sunday, 12-4pm and ask staff to help you meet him.

🐾 Meet Hangman & Coyote: Two Timid Hearts Ready to Bloom 🐾

Hangman and Coyote might just be the cutest bonded besties I've ever met. These one-year-old pups do everything together including sharing food, sharing a bed, and curling up tight in the corner of their kennel when the world feels a little too big. 💛

They're very scared right now, so scared that I had to carry them outside because they couldn't bring themselves to leave their kennel. 😭😭
But the second their paws hit the grass in the outdoor run?
✨ They come to LIFE. ✨

ZOOMIES. FULL. SPEED.
I have videos of them racing around the yard, side by side, like two little kids finally let out for recess. It's impossible not to smile.

They're incredibly timid with people, but here's the beautiful thing...during my very first interaction with them, both pups let me pet them. That tells me that under all that fear is a whole lot of trust just waiting to bloom in the right home.

🏡 What They Need:
* A kind, gentle, patient human willing to go slow.
* Another confident dog in the home would help them immensely.
* They don't have to be adopted together, but their bond is something special.
* Each weighs under 50 lbs so they are small, sweet, and still so young.

I'm scared they'll keep getting overlooked because they huddle silently in the back of their kennel, but I promise you, once they feel safe, these two will shine.🌞

If you're the type of person who sees the scared ones and says, "Come here, baby, you're safe now", these pups need you to see them. 💕 They are underdogs in a very full shelter.

Hangman and Coyote are at the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter. Come by the shelter and ask staff to help you meet them Wednesday-Saturday, 12-5pm or Sunday, 12-4pm. Or apply for them online and let us know you're interested in meeting one or both of these boys. https://www.moaspets.com/adoptable-dogsPlease call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.

Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.

Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.
Fees:
Dogs over 6 months old: $100
Puppies under 6 months: $200.
Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).

For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home.
We are located at:
1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd
Danielsville, GA 30633
706-795-2868

NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption.
If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
