Cowboy's Story

I’m 6 years old, and would love to be your best companion! I love very long naps on the couch, following you around the house while you do your daily tasks, I LOVE going for walks, morning stretches, and protecting my family! I’m 90% house trained, but will need time to adjust to my new home and your routine. I don’t like to be myself at night, but I can hold my own during the day and usually nap while waiting for you! I’d do best as an only dog, indoors, where I can have all the attention. I also need a home with adults only, I don’t get along well with children right now. I’m cautious towards men and strangers that aren’t my immediate Mom or Dad, but with time and patience, I can adjust! I do not bark for fun or out of boredom, but if I hear a sound outside or see something I don’t like and makes me feel scared for us, I’ll tell you. I’m a great guard dog and really need a fenced in yard, that’s why my foster Mom only walks me on a leash. Some fun traits of mine are that I like to sleep at the top of the couch, it’s where I like to perch and nap- but I also love snuggling right up against you where it’s safe and warm, especially if you work from a computer. When I’m feeling silly I flop on my back and squirm around on the couch, until I get tired again. If you are vacuuming, I offer emotional support- I do not bark, but I might follow you around til you’re done cleaning to make sure you’re safe until it’s put away. My favorite toy is a mini stuffed monkey that my foster family gave me, and I will bring it to you when I’m really happy and play tug and throw, and I sleep with it at night! I really need a home at my age where I can live out my best life feeling loved, safe, and secure. Are you my forever family?
