Cowboy's Story

Cowboy was well loved and treasured by his mom who passed away unexpectedly. He is a sable headed, white rough coat collie and is 5 years old. Cowboy is sensitive, affectionate, gentle and has a calming presence. He is a sweet boy who will be a wonderful addition to some extra lucky family. He will do his absolute best in a home where someone is home most of the time. Cowboy craves attention and to be near you. He will bark at the door a couple of times when you leave trying to convince you to stay. He does not scratch the door or have any destructive behavior when he is left alone. He is potty trained & knows how to use a doggie door. Cowboy is easy going as far as where he likes to sleep. His first preference is to sit on the sofa next to you, but he is happy to lay in a bed or on the floor as long as he is in the same vicinity as his people. Cowboy doesn't complain if there is a need to crate him. He chooses to sleep in his crate with the door open sometimes, it is familiar and safe. Cowboy has never been taught basic commands but his intelligence and eagerness to please makes him a dream companion. Cowboy enjoys other dogs but the cat in his foster home proved to be a little too tempting to chase. Green beans are an extra special treat! A fenced yard is required. Cowboy is being fostered in Oklahoma. If interested, apply at freedomcollierescue.org
