Meet Francis!<br/><br/> Francis is a very handsome young man that’s been through a lot in his short time. Francis was found with quite a few scars and dragging a heavy chain. Although his scars may make him appear scary, don’t let that deter you. Francis is known as the sweetest boy at his boarding facility! He has not met a person he doesn’t like, and he wins over everyone he meets. Francis is a big lover and he’s not shy about it. He’ll even give you a hug if you let him! He now enjoys some of the finer things in life, like sunbathing with a nice bone or toy and nice long trail walks or a jog through the neighborhood. He is young, about 1-2 years old, with a lot of energy and loves the outdoors. This sweet little baby has been boarding for over a month now and could really use a loving home.<br/><br/> Some background on Francis…<br/><br/> Francis was found walking down the street with scars all over and dragging a heavy chain. We cannot say for sure what he has been through, but he clearly was abused. Despite that he still loves everyone. He jumped right in the car with us when we found him. We wanted to bring him home with us, but with 4 rescues already we had no space. We have been contacting rescues for about a month now with little luck, everywhere is overcrowded. With nowhere to bring Francis, we ended up boarding him as we continued to search for a home. He has been boarding for about a month now. He is doing really well over there and we are able to visit every couple of days to bring him on a nice long trail walk. But this little man really needs a home, where he can learn all the amazing things about being safe and loved. Francis has a zest for life and he’s ready to shake off those chains and enjoy it to the fullest!<br/><br/> Francis is up to date on all of his shots. He is negative for heartworm and is currently on heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention. He is not currently neutered, but will be for foster or adoption. He was recently temperament tested at the SPCA and found to be dog friendly. We are unsure how he is with cats or children, he hasn’t been exposed to either yet. He does like to jump up to greet people, which is something we are currently working on with him. We are also unsure how house trained he is, it doesn’t seem like he’s ever stayed inside a house before. If you’re willing to give this little man a chance it would change his life!
