Courier 13427's Story

Extra, extra, read all about it! In this case, "it" being a handsome 8-year-old, 10-pound little terrier whose white locks look like he's been caught in a windstorm named Courier. This tiny terrier's tousled tresses are the epitome of bedhead, but he swears, he just woke up this way. Courier is always quick to sniff out a scoop, if that scoop involves chicken or chicken-flavored treats, but is also quick to notice (and investigate) new details in his surroundings. He's a spry older gentleman who enjoys bopping around Muttville, and he's been getting along swimmingly with all his new friends. He's ready to blow into his forever home like a lucky will-o-wisp, and he wonders if that home might be yours, what do you think?

Here's some notes from his foster:

If Courier is a senior, he certainly doesn't show it. He is a very energetic little guy who loves exploring his surroundings and taking long (and fast!) walks around the neighborhood. He is very treat motivated and is able to be redirected quickly. He also is able to handle stairs like a champ.

At home Courrier is a combination of chill and playful. He loves his toys and especially the ball. If he's feeling lively, he'll get a toy and place it by your feet or your calf. He is spry! He's quick to chase the toy and bring it back to you (most of the time). He easily runs up and down the stairs. He loves head and butt scratches. However, when Courrier settles in his bed, this is his sanctuary and prefers to be undisturbed. If I need his attention, I'll simply move and/or reach for a treat. He's quickly by my side and receptive.

Courrier is an alert dog. He'll let you know when the gardeners are outside or if he objects to construction noise outside of the house. He can tolerate my parakeets squawking throughout the day and is learning the sounds of my home and the surrounding neighborhood. Courrier is potty-trained as we've had no accidents in the house.

Courrier is always in the mood for a walk. If you want a quick ten-minute jaunt or a 40-minute stroll, Courrier is willing and able. He's good on the leash; however, he'll pull occasionally. While he minds his own business when humans are walking by, he may react upon seeing another dog.

Happily, Courrier is very good in the car. Courrier is content sitting/lying in the rear middle seat watching what's happening in the front seat.
When I can't take Courrier with me, I am comfortable leaving him in the house alone. While I hear a little whining, he settles down and snoozes until I come back.
