Courage's Story

Courage, as his name suggests, has gone through a lot but stayed hopeful and determined to have a better life. He was found abandoned--likely dumped--severely underweight and doing whatever he could to survive...even feeding off of his friend who died beside him.😭

He was understandably jumpy at first, but after a couple of real meals and some gentle company, he warmed right up and has been asking for couch snuggles ever since. He does well with other dogs. He's already come such a long way in such a short time. Now he just needs a soft landing, stability, and someone to show him what it means to truly be home.

Courage is heartworm positive and has started his treatment with our veterinarian. He is available for local adoption now, or he can travel out of state in the end of March when his treatment is completed. To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

https://longwayhome.org/apply

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.
