Cotton's Story

Cotton’s story begins in a large hoarding case where she spent the first year of her life with almost no human contact. She came to us scared, oversized with puppies on the way, and heartworm positive… but this girl has fought her way back to health with quiet strength and a whole lot of grace.

Today, Cotton is spayed, fully finished with her heartworm treatment, and ready for the kind of home that will honor how far she’s come.

What Cotton Loves:
• Other dogs — they are her comfort zone and she blossoms around them
• Cats — she’s wonderfully respectful and gentle
• Soft places to nap, calm voices, slow movements
• Ear rubs, belly rubs, and the humans she learns to trust

Home Requirements:
Cotton is still a nervous girl and may always be a bit skittish. Quick movements, loud homes, or lots of chaos overwhelm her, so she’s looking for a peaceful, predictable environment with patient people who understand shy dogs.
For this reason, no children under 15. She also needs a yard as she loves being outdoors and laying in the sun.

Her Skills:
• House trained
• Kennel trained
• Leash trained
• Expert at being sweet and gentle

Cotton isn’t the dog who will run up to you tail-wagging on day one, but she is the dog who will quietly choose you, lean in for scratches, and show you what true trust looks like. And when she does, her full body wiggles will be your new favorite thing!

If you have a calm home, a soft heart, and another friendly pet who could be her buddy, Cotton just might be your girl.
