Sweet 7 month old Cosmo is 45lbs of love, fun and companionship who is looking for his forever home and sure to make you laugh. He is a hound through and through, he can sniff and explore with the best of them! If you are in the market for a hiking buddy, this is your boy!<br/>Cosmo would love an active family who will take him exploring, and it would be a bonus for him if there was another family dog, Cosmo really loves having his foster brothers and sisters around! While he loves everyone he meets, his foster mom describes him as a "dog's dog", he is currently living with 5 dogs of all sizes and a cat. When he is not playing with his doggy buddies or on the trail of some great scent in the back yard, he is cuddled up with his people or in his favorite lounge chair with a bone. Cosmo does really like children but given his age and hound energy, we feel he is better suited to families with older children. <br/>Cosmo is crate and housetrained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vetting. Double Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy

If you are interested in adopting one of our furry friends we ask that you complete an application (which we will forward to you) or download one from our website. We also require a vet reference check and a home visit when possible. Some of our dogs require fenced in yards while others do not. If you are interested in a dog you must e-mail the contact on each dogs petfinder page. Important Information Pertaining to Each Dog A Dogs have received the following before being available for adoption: Routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming (Puppies 6 months or younger will not have their rabies as they are too young). Spay/Neuter: All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. Heartworm: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 mon

Our volunteers are inundated with outstanding dogs and adorable puppies that otherwise would be euthanized in local shelters.
