Cora's Story

This sweet gal is Cora. She’s young (DOB: 6/15/2023), a bit of a couch potato, nosey, kinda clingy and absolutely adorable with her one blue eye and one brown eye. Initially Cora was quite shy but once she warmed up, she desires lap-time, lots of attention and does not hesitate to intrude so she can be as close as possible. She does well with other small dogs (not cat or large dog tested), not exactly leash trained, not too barky, sensitive to what’s going on around her, goes outside to potty but (if the weather sucks) she uses puppy pads, loves to sleep on the bed or snuggle close on the couch, alert, kinda chunky (weighs approximately 12-13 pounds), needs a fenced yard (she was a stray initially so a secure yard is necessary), gentle-natured, gets nervous when voices are loud, can be quite stubborn and a great welcomer when her person(s) return. She would do well in an adult home or with older dog-friendly children (but not young kids). Her level of adoration is a bit higher than most dogs - when she loves, she loves with her whole being. Cora is an awesome companion kinda gal. She’s delightful to be around altho’ she’s not easy to shrug off after she’s decided you’re hers. Initially she adjusted quickly to “mom” and barked at “dad”, but she has gradually warmed up. It may take her a bit more time to trust the males in the home - who knows what happened in her previous life. Time, patience and attention won that battle in her foster home.
