Copper 's Story

Meet Copper 🧡
Age: 1 year
Breed: Pointer mix
Energy level: Yes. Just… yes.

Copper is a little… well… wild. But in the best, most entertaining way possible. And honestly? It’s not his fault. Copper was acquired by his previous owner at just 8 weeks old and didn’t receive the training, structure, and guidance young pups need to grow into polished adults. So now he’s basically a big, goofy kid who never learned the rules—but is very ready to learn them now.

This boy is smart as could be, incredibly sweet, and bursting with potential. With the right family willing to put in some time, consistency, and basic training, Copper is absolutely going to glow up into a well-mannered gentleman. Think: from “chaotic cartoon character” to “handsome adventure hero.”

And speaking of cartoons… have you seen him?! Copper’s beautiful tri-colored ticking and those houndy, floppy ears give him a permanently animated look that perfectly matches his personality. He’s ridiculously cute and definitely looks like he stepped straight out of a comic strip.

Copper would thrive with:
🥾 An active family looking for a sidekick for hikes, adventures, exploring, and outdoor fun
🐕 A canine buddy (we think he’d love a dog friend to help show him the ropes!)
👧 Kids he’s lived with previously and done well with—especially ones old enough to help reinforce training and structure

He’s new to the shelter, so we’re still learning more about him, but one thing is clear: Copper is FUN. He’s the kind of dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and never bored. He may be a bit of a project—but he’s the kind of project that pays off with loyalty, love, and a whole lot of joy.

If you’re ready for a goofy, high-energy, sweet-as-can-be adventure buddy who just needs someone to show him the way… Copper is waiting. 🐾💥

If you are interested in making Copper your next best sidekick, you can submit an adoption form at www.mcwvanimalshelter.com or at the shelter during business hours.
