There once was a stray dog wandering the harsh streets down south, he had no one to love him and no one who even looked his way unless it was to kick him out of the way, yell at him or chase him away. He wandered for a long time trying to just simply survive and hoping someone would throw him some food or at least give him a smile. He perhaps had a "home" at some point likely when he was a cute small puppy but was then abandoned to the streets. He finally found a kind elderly woman who was at least giving him food daily and would let him sleep on her front porch for some relative shelter and safety. But then her health declined greatly and she had to move to a nursing home, and once again this poor dog was again left to fend for himself. But she did contact one of our southern fosters to help, and eventually he was found and picked up to safety. His name is now Copper because he has the glistening copper coloring fur. He is a big boy with a heart of gold and is still hoping one day someone will say "come on fella let's go home". He is around 5.5-6 yrs old currently and fully vetted. He loves attention and loves to follow his foster around when doing her outside chores just like a shadow. He does get along with other dogs with a proper intro, but no dominant dogs he literally had to defend himself for way too long, he simply wants peace and some love is all. If his dream came true, he would love to be the one and only for all the attention since he never got much of this in his life thus far, he has never been tested around cats, so our best guess would likely not be the best idea for him. He walks well on a leash and like mentioned before he just craves attention, so would follow you wherever you wanted to go. He just needs a chance is all, a chance to prove he is a good boy and deserves a forever home.
