Cooper's Story

Hi there... I’m Cooper, and I’m Looking for My Forever Family

(A love letter from one big, gentle boy to the humans who might be mine.)

Hi friend... I’m Cooper. I’m a big ol’ softie—about 100 pounds of pure, gentle German Shepherd–mix goodness—who still honestly believes he was meant to be a lap dog. I know, I know... that’s a lot of Cooper to fit in a lap. But I promise I’m very polite about it.

My story started up in Northern Arizona, where I was found wandering all by myself. I waited and waited at the pound for someone to come claim me—my tail always wagging when the door opened—but my old family never came. I didn’t understand why, but I kept hoping. Months went by, and then one day I finally got the best news: a ride to Central Arizona Animal Rescue so I could start fresh and find a family who will come for me. One who won’t ever forget me. One who wants a gentle buddy just like me.

And now... here I am. Ready. Waiting. Hoping again—with the same wagging tail.

What I’m Like (Besides Very Handsome)

I’m a mellow, easygoing boy. No wild puppy energy here. Give me a short walk, a comfy couch, and some humans to lean against, and I’m set for the day. Truly—I am a world‑class snuggler. I don’t need hours of running or complicated games. A walk, some ear rubs, maybe a movie night, and I’m over the moon.

I share my kennel with other dogs, and I’m a total gentleman with all of them. I don’t want any conflict or drama. I’m the “let’s all just chill and get along” guy. If the other dogs want to play, that’s cool. If they want to nap, also cool. But honestly? What I really want most is you. My people. A home. A family.

❤ï ̧ A Lap Dog in a Large Body

I might look like a big shepherd mix, but inside I’m basically a teddy bear—soft, sweet, gentle, and convinced I’m the perfect size to be your cuddle buddy. Don’t tell me otherwise... I’m committed to the bit.

Kids? Maybe! (But Let’s Be Smart.)

I haven’t been tested with children yet, so the rescue doesn’t know for sure how I’ll do. But because I don’t always know how big I actually am (I try, I promise!), I’d do best with older kids who won’t get knocked over by my enthusiastic attempts at affection. I don’t jump or act wild—I’m just... large.

Car Rides? YES PLEASE.

Open the door, and boom—I’m in. I love going places with my people. Adventures, errands, weekend getaways—I’m down for all of it. I’m happiest when I’m by your side.

Ready to Go Home Today

I’m: ✔ï ̧ Neutered
✔ï ̧ Vaccinated
✔ï ̧ Microchipped
✔ï ̧ Healthy
✔ï ̧ So, so ready for my forever family

The rescue says I’m "the biggest lovebug they’ve met in a long time." (I wagged so hard when I heard that.)

Want to Meet Me? I’d Really Love That.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, ultra-chill companion who will adore you with his whole giant heart, please come meet me. I’ve been waiting a long time... and I think maybe you might be the one I’ve been waiting for.

Email: mike@caaronline.org
to set up an appointment to meet me—Cooper, the 100‑pound lap dog who’s ready to love you forever.

I can’t wait to see you. Truly.

Love,
Cooper ❤ï ̧

PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.

All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.

Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation.

We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ.

If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption.

Follow us on Facebook - www.facebook.com/CentralArizonaAnimalRescue

Follow us on Instagram -
www.instagram.com/centralarizonaanimalrescue

Follow our YouTube Channel - www.youtube.com/channel/UCp43a-ycLJ2BwsgW8hu6UVg

WE DO NOT TAKE OWNER SURRENDERS - If you are looking to surrender a dog, take them to the county animal control in the county you reside in.
