Cooper's Story

**CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE COFFEEWOOD CANINES PROGRAM

Cooper is a handsome 112-year-old Pit Bull mix who weighs about 46 pounds, though he could stand to put on a little more weight. He arrived at the shelter as a stray alongside another dog. Both were posted, but unfortunately no one came forward to claim him.

Cooper is a sweet boy with a slightly shy side when meeting new people, but once he relaxes his gentle personality really shines through. He keeps his kennel tidy and already understands that his bathroom business is meant to happen outside, which is always a great start.

He has done well around other dogs and may especially benefit from a confident canine friend in the home to help him settle in and show him the ropes.

Cooper briefly visited the cat room, but the environment was a bit overwhelming for him at the time. We will plan to try that introduction again to get a better idea of how he feels about feline friends.

One thing everyone notices right away about Cooper is his striking eyes. At first glance they almost appear blue, but they shift in the light and are truly something special that pictures just dont fully capture.

Cooper is neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormer and on monthly preventatives.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
