COOPER's Story
Cooper is a beautiful mixed breed dog who is 1-2 years old and weighs about 55 pounds. Cooper is friendly and has been consistently well behaved and engaging with everyone he meets. Cooper is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs and has demonstrated excellent social skills and appropriate play. His foster mom took him to the Ashland Halloween parade and Cooper did well in the crowded street and greeted dogs, children and adults with a friendly demeanor. This guy would make a great family pet.

Cooper has a silvery black coat with a dark black dorsal stripe down his back, white on the tip of his tail, white on all toes and white on his chest. People have consistently remarked how handsome he is. Cooper loves being inside the home spending time with family. He loves to cuddle, get belly rubs and hugs. He also likes to lean against people and becomes deeply connected to his family. He has good house skills with a calm presence in his foster home. He is not destructive or high energy, and appears to be house trained. Cooper is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night.

Cooper is likely a working breed and is extremely smart. He learns new skills easily and acclimates well to new environments. Like all dogs, Cooper does best when there is a consistent routine which includes exercise and fun. Cooper would do best in a home where he gets plenty of mental and physical exercise. He has demonstrated some prey drive which is still being sorted out in his foster home. He sometimes wants to chase, but has good recall and will follow commands to come back to his owner. Cooper rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. He is the kind of dog who would do well on leash walks through town.

He adores playing with other dogs and having another dog for him to play with would be very helpful in discharging some of his energy and making him a happy boy! It is clear that lots of play time with other dogs helps tire him out. A tired dog is a good dog! Cooper would do well in a multi-dog home.

This one is a keeper with many great qualities. Cooper’s foster mom is very impressed with his social skills and ability to acclimate to new environments. Give her a call to hear more about Cooper’s positive traits.
