******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Cooper, 8mo old, neutered male, black labrador retriever mix, 30 pounds. Cooper is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!

Cooper is all around a great guy - outgoing and fun, sweet and playful, and full of that exuberance that makes labs some of the best dogs there are!

Cooper is still learning his house manners but is house broken and does fine in a kennel, but could use more work on walking nicely on a leash. He rides well in a car and loves being carried around like the sweet baby he is.

He is fostered in a home with many other dogs - large and small, old and young - and blends nicely with the pack. He loves to play like any normal puppy, and enjoys running the yard chasing after the others.

His foster home has a tweenager and he's been around kids 12yrs or older, and done well as long as the kids also respect his boundaries. In general, we recommend home with kids over the age of 10yrs or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues.

Structure and routine go long ways in establishing good house manners. For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home for 6 hours or more, please specify on the application who will be with the puppy during the time you are away.

The ideal home would be one that is excited for the joys and challenges that come with raising a puppy, one who will provide training and structure. Training can be self taught or through the use of professional resources. A home that understands there is a lot of learning for a young dog and is wiling to be patient through the process.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
