Cookie's Story

She has the right name because Cookie is as sweet as she can be.

Picked up as a stray in a rural area of Oklahoma, Cookie was taken to a shelter where no one claimed. Nor had the shelter ever worked with a rescue!

Despite her sweet disposition, Cookie was kind of in rough shape with flakey skin and a thinning coat. Surprisingly however, she tested negative for heartworms and other parasites! We had her spayed and a short time later had her teeth cleaned. She is all healed up and ready for a new home.

Cookie has been in a foster home with other female dogs and has done fine. Her foster mom reports she doesn't know a stranger and could care less about cats; children we do not know about so we will error on the side of caution and say only household with children older than 12 will be considered. She loves to go for rides, even if it's to the veterinarian's office but especially if she's getting a pup-cup. She will quickly bond to someone and want to be with them most all the time, so be ready for a "velcro" dog. And along with that comes a bit of jealousy so that should be monitored. She can also be bossy at times as most any female corgi is, but she is quickly corrected with a firm "no." Cookie LOVES to be outside, therefore a fenced yard is REQUIRED for consideration. She is also crate-trained.

She has had all her vaccinations, is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative and has been micro-chipped. She is being fostered near Ponca City, OK and CCK does adopt out of state but does not fly its dogs.

Her adoption fee is $300. If you meet the requirements for Cookie and are interested in adopting her, please submit an application through this link for consideration:

https://www.corgiconnection.com/index.php?option=com_breezingforms&view=form&Itemid=10

Or go to the "Adoption" page and look for the link at the very bottom of the page.
