Cookie's Story

Meet Cookie, a 1 year old Poodle who is basically a 12 lb walking, wiggly, and cuddly sugar cookie with legs. She’s as sweet as her name and seems to know just how adorable she is.

Cookie came from a home with at least 12 other dogs, so she’s very dog-friendly, but we don’t think she got much socialization with people. She is shy with new people and needs some time to warm up to them. Once she learns that she’s safe, she has so much love to give. She can be a bit skittish and sometimes enjoys playing a quick game of chase before being picked up, which feels part playful, part nerves, and fully adorable.

This little sweetie is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and professional snuggler. When it’s time to have fun, she’s all in. She plays with toys, gets the zoomies, and chases her tail like it’s the best thing ever. When it’s time to relax, she’s more than happy to curl up on the couch with you or keep you company while you work. She loves being near her people and kindly requests furniture privileges for maximum cuddles.

In her foster home, Cookie has been learning that potty time happens outside and she is making steady progress. She is also working on leash training and will need someone who will help her continue building those skills. While she prefers to be near her people, she is free roam trustworthy when left alone. Cookie hasn’t been around children, and because she can be a bit mouthy when she’s super excited, we recommend a home without young kids.

With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Cookie is going to blossom into an amazing and adorable companion!

Cookie is in foster in Loveland, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/cookie

You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
