Cookie's Story

Meet Cookie!
This girl is as sweet as a treat after a long day. She is a 4 year old Heeler mix, and while life has dealt her a bad hand previously, she is ready for that luck to turn around!
Cookie came to us alongside her daughter, Nova. The pair had been dumped when Nova was a puppy. Looking at Cookie, you can see she’s given birth multiple times. Unfortunately, it appears that she may have been used as a breeding dod, and then dumped once they no longer wanted her. Some kind souls took her in and have her a safe place to land, and she was very loved by that family. Once issues arose of the dogs escaping their owner’s property, however, the family was told that the dogs would have to go. Cookie and Nova do not have to be adopted out together, but if you would consider a pair, there is a discount when taking two pets at the same time!
Cookie is not only adorable, but she is so incredibly sweet. She is a huge love bug and immediately upon meeting us was ready to become best friends! Cookie has lived with kids before and did great with them, and has also done well with dogs. We have noticed at the shelter that Cookie is very treat motivated, and while she hasn’t had any issues sharing treats with Nova, we aren’t sure how she would do around a dog she’s not as close to. We recommend supervising her around any new dogs until she is fully used to them. Cookie is not good with cats, however, and will not be adopted to a home with any felines. Due to her history of escaping, she would do best in a home with a secure yard to keep her safely contained.
This sweet girl deserves to finally have a forever home where she can spend her days being loved like she deserves! Cookie has received her first round of vaccinations and is officially on the lookout for her perfect family. If you think that could be you, come out and meet her today!
