Cookie's Story
🐾 Meet Cookie! 🍪

Since I'm a long stay pup, my adoption fee has been reduced! Visit me today to find out my favorite treats and how you can take me home!

Cookie is a sweet 3-year-old with a gentle heart. She was initially a little shy, but she has warmed up beautifully with staff and volunteers, showing her playful and affectionate side. Cookie is highly motivated by treats, so training and rewarding her is a breeze! Her love language is coziness, and the way to her heart is to dress her in appropriate clothing for the weather. A puffer coat in cold, snowy weather will turn Cookie's shivers and trembles into zoomies and grateful slobbery kisses.

She seems to be selective with other dogs, so a home where she can be the center of attention or with a carefully matched canine companion would be ideal. Cookie is ready to find a loving family who will give her patience, understanding, and plenty of tasty treats along the way.

A Boroughbreaker writes: Cookie was so great on her first borough break! She was nervous at first, didn't want to get in the car, and her first walk she seemed a little anxious. But she got a Zoomie in the backyard and then when we came in, she settled down very quickly and wanted to be by our sides and pet at all times. If we stopped petting her for a minute, she would request more. It was
super cute! She was also great with my 12 yo son and was cuddly with him as well.

Another Boroughbreaker writes: Cookie was so quiet when she was with me for her 5 hour borough break. I actually wasn't sure she barked because she didn't even do so when the door bell rang. She was so relaxed and wanted me to pet her. She LOVED the petting...and she quietly drifted off for a siesta (LOL)! My house is very quiet and perhaps she enjoyed the tranquility. She responded to "SIT" and "STAY" followed by treats :-) She followed me downstairs to the basement and was inquisitive. Cookie was a great pup and easy to manage.
