Thank you.<br/>------------------------------------------------------<br/>Fostered in Caledonia<br/><br/>Cookie, around 7 years old and 36lbs., is a male Cocker Spaniel with a gentle heart and a deeply loyal nature. After retiring from breeding, he survived on the streets of Louisiana for nearly three years before finally finding safety in foster care. Because of his past, Cookie can be nervous at first and needs time to build trust. However, once he feels safe, he bonds wholeheartedly to his person and becomes a devoted, constant companion.<br/><br/>Cookie thrives in a calm home with an experienced owner who understands shy or sensitive dogs. He gains confidence from having another steady, confident dog in the home and for this reason he will require another dog in his forever home. Cookie also lives peacefully with cats. Due to his timid nature, he would do best in a home with older teens or adult only home, as sudden movements or loud activity can make him anxious. A secure fenced yard is essential, as he can be a flight risk if startled.<br/><br/>He enjoys walking on a leash and is mostly housetrained. Cookie does not require a crate and is not destructive when left alone. Instead, he waits patiently by the window for his person to return. Because he forms such strong attachments, he would do best with someone who works from home or is away no more than five to six hours at a time. He would not thrive being left alone all day.<br/><br/>Cookie is a sweet, sensitive boy who has overcome so much.
