Born into hardship, Conrad’s early years were marked by cruelty no dog should ever endure. In a moment that could have ended his story far too soon, Conrad was stabbed three times by the very person meant to protect him. We are thankful to the many people who donated to his care months ago so that he has a second chance at life! <br/><br/>Conrad thrives as the epitome of canine class and character. But don’t be fooled — underneath that noble facade is a playful, goofy heart. He is known for carrying and playing with toys, rolling around in the grass, and chasing and running from his foster sister. If you need a workout buddy, Conrad has been known to pick up and carry a 7 lb weight! He cuddles all night and prefers to be covered up and tucked in to sleep! He loves attention and affection from his human. He will remind you of this with a gentle paw. <br/><br/>Despite his traumatic past, Conrad wears his scars like medals of honor. One of those scars developed into a facial abscess, a permanent reminder of his resilience. Conrad was stabbed in his neck, and one of the stab wounds was in his salivary gland. Because of this, his salivary gland leaks into a part of his neck. It causes him no pain, and if anything, it adds to his air of distinguished charm!<br/><br/>Above all, Conrad is loyal. Once you earn his trust, you have it for life. He is a gentle guardian, an old soul, and a reminder that no matter how dark the beginning, life can be full of love, laughter, and second chances.<br/><br/>This special boy is current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, dewormed, microchipped, and neutered.
