He is not a “cuddle on the first date” type of guy. New people make him unsure, and he needs slow introductions, space, structure, and a confident handler who understands working dogs.

But give Connor a couple walks, some patience, and the chance to feel safe, and he will remember you forever.

Connor has completed professional training, is muzzle trained, and truly benefits from having a job to do. He needs a family that understands a muzzle is not a bad thing — it is a tool that helps set him up for success. His foster or forever home will also receive free training support from his board-and-train trainer to help ensure a smooth transition and set both Connor and his new family up for success.

With other dogs? Connor is a total gem. He is 100% dog friendly, loves to play, and would thrive with a confident canine buddy to help show him the ropes.

Because Connor can be wary of strangers and has shown some resource guarding around food, he needs a low-traffic home with no young kids.

Connor’s “stranger danger” just means he needs someone willing to go slow and earn his trust. Put in the effort, and you will find a loyal, goofy, adventurous best friend who will be yours for life.

If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Connor, please fill out an application at
https://www.labradorsandfriends.org
.

Connor is located in Southern California.
