Connor's Story

Meet Connor – Your Energetic Explorer!
Connor came to us as a stray, but he’s quickly showing us who he is: a lively, curious, and playful dog who loves to stay active. He’s a wiggly, happy guy who enjoys attention—he’s just usually too excited to sit still for long!
Connor can get a bit jumpy and mouthy when he’s amped up, but he’s very food-motivated and already knows "sit," making him a great candidate for continued positive training. He loves interactive play and can even entertain himself, though he benefits from gentle guidance when his enthusiasm gets the best of him.
During his food test, Connor showed mild guarding, so he’ll do best in a home that gives him space during meals or when he has high-value treats. His interaction with a similar-sized male dog was tense but manageable; he was alert and stiff but able to calmly circle and sniff. A slow, controlled introduction with any resident dog is recommended.
Connor will thrive in an active home that can provide structure, training, and plenty of exercise. With the right guidance, he’s sure to grow into an amazing adventure buddy. Come meet him—he’s ready to start his next chapter with you!

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff.

Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
