Connie's Story
Connie was rescued from Fulton County Animal Control in January 2014. She was a staff favorite there and no one could understand why this doll baby hadn't caught someone's eye! She was out of time (having been at the shelter since October 2013) when FTTF pulled her.

When she came to us it was discovered that she had some serious ear issues. Untreated, chronic infection had caused both ear canals to practically close and one ear drum to rupture. Despite this painful condition she remained sweet and happy with everyone she met. She was also heartworm positive. She was treated for the heartworms and is now heartworm free. After that our FTTF vet performed successful ear surgery to shorten her ear canals and remove the damaged tissue. She handled all this like a trooper. Then when she was almost fully recovered she had the misfortune to tear her ACL. It was surgically repaired, has healed well and other than an occasional limp has given her no trouble.

Connie is a real lady with a cheerful, quiet personality! She loves all people and her several canine housemates. Her favorite pastimes are cuddling with all of them and being a couch potato! She also enjoys a good session with a safe bone or chew toy. She loves her crate and her foster mom says 'like any Southern lady she has never had an accident in the house'.

Because of her medical history, Connie can be prone to ear infections. Many ear problems stem from food allergies and that seems to be the case here. Her foster mom reports that a good quality hypoallergenic food and easy weekly ear washes have been a winning combination in keeping her ears healthy and potential infections at bay. Her forever family needs to be committed to doing the same. It's a small thing compared to the affection the this sweet girl loves to lavish on her family and friends. Won't you consider opening your heart so Connie can give you hers!

More Pictures of Connie: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.620512384673598.1073741944.162554320469409&type=1&l=f593c245af

Our adoption fee is $195 – All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.

http://www.friendstotheforlorn.com/596/profile/connie.htm
