Colton's Story
Colton #33807 is a shy, sensitive boy who's still learning that the world isn't so scary Found as a stray, he can be a bit tense in his kennel and isn't a fan of being overwhelmed, but once he's out and given a little space, he starts to show his sweet side. He walks nicely on leash, knows "sit," and is very treat motivated, which makes building trust with him that much easier. Colton may come off a little unsure-he doesn't really enjoy being held and may give a soft growl when he's uncomfortable-but he's simply asking for patience and respect while he settles in. He warms up on his own terms and will approach for gentle attention when he feels safe.

Colton would do best in an adult-only home or with older teens who understand his need for space. At this time, he would prefer to be the only dog, as he can become uncomfortable around other dogs. He is potty trained and will thrive in a calm home that allows him to adjust at his own pace. Colton may always be a bit independent, but for someone willing to go slow and let him blossom, he'll be a loyal and rewarding companion.
