Colt's Story
COLT - 1.5 YEAR OLD, MALE BLACK LAB MIX, 77 Pounds, Neutered

Background:
Colt came to Lab Rescue through Stanislaus Animal Services in Modesto. People found him at a park and as they were leaving, Colt jumped the fence and followed them home. They kept Colt in their backyard and contacted animal services.

Lab Rescue had him evaluated by one of our rescue partners, and here's what she had to say upon meeting Colt: Colt is a fabulous boy! Great mellow energy, very sweet, knows sit and shake paw. Tested nicely with another adult dog, a female. Great soft tail wag. Food tested and no issues.

What his Rescue Rep says:
Colt is currently with new Lab Rescue fosters—this is their first time fostering—and he’s already made himself right at home. When I visited a few days after his arrival, it was clear he’d formed a quick bond with his foster mom, even whining when she stepped out of the room. He was easy to handle and enjoyed gentle petting while I checked over his skin and areas of missing fur.

We’re still getting to know Colt, but so far he’s proving to be a relaxed, good-natured boy who deserves a home where he’s treated as a cherished family member. We’d love to see him in a home where he won’t be left alone for long periods—he thrives on companionship. He’d likely enjoy the company of another friendly dog. Cats are unknown.

Medical:
We just took Colt to the vet as he was itchy with patches of missing fur, especially on his paws and legs, and one larger patch on his left side. He is being treated for an ear infection and on antibiotics to treat his skin. Colt is neutered, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and is current on Rabies and DHPP.

Colt is located in: San Jose

If you are interested in adopting Colt please contact Rescue Rep Kris at krisellen.nm@gmail.com

In your email, please tell me about yourself and why you would be a good fit for Colt.
