Colt's Story

Hi! I’m Colt—a 10-month-old guy with a wiggly body, a curious brain, and a very social heart. I weigh about 36 pounds right now and I’m still filling out, so think “growing pup with big potential.” Let’s start with one of my best features: I’ve lived with cats and did great. Yep, two of them—one male, one female—and we coexisted just fine. I’ve also lived with multiple dogs of different ages, including my littermate. We all played together in the yard, and while our walks were done separately, I’m absolutely a dog who enjoys canine company.

I’m super friendly with people and love attention. I’m social, affectionate, and always ready to engage—especially if snacks are involved (I am extremely food motivated, just saying). When it comes to other dogs I don’t know yet, I can be a little awkward at first—think “enthusiastic teen who missed a few social lessons.” I’m social and just figuring things out.

I’m already working on my skills! I attend shelter dog class, know sit and down, and I’ve started learning nose work with games like “go find it” using boxes and treats. I love using my brain almost as much as my nose—and both wear me out in the best way.

If you’re looking for a super social, cat-friendly, dog-friendly, food-loving young dog who’s eager to learn and ready to grow into an amazing companion, I might just be your guy!

Our organization is foster based which means that we really know and understand our dogs personalities as our volunteers live each day in their house with our rescued dogs. Our fosters are available to answer your questions and will give you all the details you need to know about our dogs such as if they are shy, are they outgoing, what is their energy level, are they couch potatoes, love bugs, kissers, lickers, so please do apply and ask our fosters questions - this will ensure you find your pur-fect match in our rescue!

***IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FOSTERING OR ADOPTING COLT, PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AT WWW.MANYPAWSGLOBALRESCUE.ORG***

Many Paws Global Rescue Inc's Adoption Policy
Petfinder Inquiries are NOT an adoption application. If you are interested in adopting, you must fill out an application. After receiving an application via https://manypawsglobalrescue.org/applications-for-adoption/ , we call the potential adopter and explain our process and answer any questions they may have. After the initial call, we then call three personal references, vet reference and landlord (if applicable). Please understand that some animals will get several applications and our main priority is to find the BEST fit for each animal. We do not fully approve applicants until after the meet and great. Due to COVID, we have had to alter our home visits and are hosting calls via Zoom to see the home. In addition, we "Google map" to see what the traffic flow is around the home. After you submit an application, one of the Many Paws member will reach out to you via phone. If we feel the applicant may be a good fit, we set up a time for a meet and greet. Only after the meet and greet, if all goes well, we will then approve applicant and will finalize adoption contracts and fees.
