Colt's Story

Hi! I'm Colt, a neutered male pit mix about 5 years old. I was recently dumped in Dallas on the side of the road by my owners. I'm now staying with a foster mom and her 3 large female dogs. I seem to like the other dogs, but I don't engage much with them... but I sure do love to snuggle and get pets from humans. I tend to follow you everywhere because I need to know I am safe and loved.

Looking for a low energy household (I have a lot of anxiety which I am working on) with low energy dog siblings (I also have separation anxiety) so it's nice to not be alone when my person is not home. Not sure how I feel about cats!

I'm potty trained, leash trained and I know how to sit. I happily hop in the car to go for a ride. I absolutely love my crate...I sleep in it and even hang out in it when I don't have to! I need tough toys and balls and enjoy bones like benebones, as I'm an avid chewer (but I only chew my toys and bones!) and you can usually find me walking around with a ball in my mouth.

A typical day is breakfast around 7, some snuggles and pets and a nice walk, then I'm ready to chill for the day. I like a short evening walk and dinner whenever you get home. I sleep 8-10 hours at night in a crate in my person's room. Colt needs a stable environment where he feels safe and loved. He would do best with another low energy dog.

Colt is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
