Coconut (160410) (In a foster home)'s Story

Meet Coconut, a 4-year-old mellow gentleman with a sweet, slightly goofy personality and a heart full of quiet love. This charming boy is the perfect mix of couch potato and curious explorer—happy to lounge on a cozy bed with blankets but always up for a car ride adventure!

Coconut has been making wonderful progress and continues to show what a gentle, kind companion he is. He’s had positive interactions with other dogs, greeting them with a wagging tail, and has been calm and patient with kids while they pet him. He’s also crate trained and has discovered that car rides are one of life’s greatest joys.

At home, Coconut enjoys the simple things: soft stuffed toys, slow and gentle pets, and relaxing in a calm environment. He can be a little nervous with sudden movements or unfamiliar situations, but he responds beautifully to patience, reassurance, and (of course) treats. As he builds trust, his affectionate side shines through—expect soft kisses, happy tail wags, and the occasional belly-up invitation for rubs.

Coconut would do best in a home that matches his laid-back vibe, where he can take things at his own pace. He may initially bark or grumble at new dogs or unfamiliar noises, and things like leashes or stairs can make him hesitant, but with steady guidance and encouragement, he continues to grow more confident every day.

If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will bring a sense of calm (and a little goofiness) into your life, Coconut might just be your perfect match.

Coconut is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
