Coco Bentley's Story

Coco was born about February 27, 2023 and weighs about 60 lbs. Based on his physical characteristics he appears to be a retriever sort of mix, but he came from Puerto Rico and when the PR dogs are DNA'd they come back with a myriad of breed mixes! While watching Coco run like the wind, we realized he seems to have the speed, form and tucked in abdomen of a Greyhound - just guess work on our part. We adopted Coco to an elderly couple who realized they should have adopted a smaller dog. Coco is very curious and is happy to follow you around and learn all sorts of new things. When it is time to relax in the evening he looks for the nearest lap to snuggle and snooze, size doesn't matter to him. Coco is a very strong swimmer and jumps right in! He was a frequent visitor to the dog parks around Rochester and always had a blast with the other dogs! Coco is wonderfully house trained and was crated when left alone when younger, but lately no crate was needed but they still had to be sure their shoes were picked up. Coco is fine on leash, but may pull some at times especially when he sees something like a rooster or squirrel. He does fine on car rides, and he sleeps beautifully during the night. He is a love everyone kind of guy and he loved the grandkids, but when excited to see them, he was a bit too bouncy. His human dad would create some of his meals and he loves to eat a variety of fruits and veggies. Coco will destroy stuffed toys pretty quickly, but he does enjoy peanut butter in Kong type toys. All in all, we know a lot about him now and he is a very good boy!
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__300.00_____.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Joyful Rescues's Adoption Policy
By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt but also others in or needing to come into rescue. Your adoption helps us to keep doing what we do to help area animals stop reproducing and find quality homes for the homeless while providing them the best care we can. Your new family member will take considerable time, attention, patience and money to be properly cared for. Think of your new addition as your baby!! It is not a lawn ornament to be tied in your yard or kept in a basement. Consider the ultimate size of a young pet, how big of a pet can you handle?? Are you ready for an adult DOG or CAT in your family? If not, do not adopt a puppy or kitten - they grow up. Are you prepared for unexpec
