Coco's Story

Hi there, I’m Coco — your loyal shadow, professional sniffer, and future best friend.

I’m a 55-lb Chow Chow/Shepherd mix, born sometime around about 2017 which makes me about 8 years old, and I like to think I’ve mastered the art of being a great house companion. I’m fully potty trained, walk very well on a leash, and I’m so trustworthy that I don’t need a crate. When you leave the house, I usually just relax and wait for you (I might whimper a little at first, but I settle quickly — I promise).

My favorite things in life?

- Hanging out with my people

- Going on walks filled with lots of sniffs and smells (the nose knows!)

- Being loyal, loving, and protective of the humans I trust

I bond very deeply with my people and would do best in a home with a single person or a couple who can give me the time and patience to build trust. Once I love you, I really love you — I’m affectionate, devoted, and happiest by your side. I’m always up for walks or activities with you, but I’m just as content chilling at home while you run errands.

I’m still learning to trust new people and animals, so slow introductions are important for me. With other dogs, I can be a bit unsure at first — I’ve met one dog on a walk where I started off hesitant and protective but ended up being okay. I can be reactive to some dogs while walking, so I’ll need an experienced, understanding adopter who can help me continue working on that.

Car rides? I don’t love them, but I do okay on shorter trips.

If you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion who will be your constant presence and protector, I might just be your girl. Give me patience, consistency, and love — and I’ll give you my whole heart in return.

My adoption fee is $350, which covers my vaccinations, neuter, and microchip.

Do I sound like your new best friend?

You can fill out an adoption application for me at www.thecantufoundation.org
