Coco's Story

Coco is the epitome of a good boy. This 40lb, 10-year-old boy loves walks, chews, playing with his dog friends, and snoozing on a comfy bed. He is good on a leash, crate trained, nondestructive in the house, and knows basic commands. Coco loves pets and to be brushed, and will do anything for a treat. His favorite napping place is resting his head on your pillow. Despite his age, Coco still has plenty of energy for his favorite things. He was originally rescued from Costa Rica, where he had been dumped in a park as a puppy during rainy season. Since then, he has had some fear of storms, but simply prefers to ride out the storm in his crate or in a windowless closet. Coco is heartworm negative, vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Coco is currently located in her foster home outside of Dallas, TX. He is available for transport to PA and surrounding areas via private rescue transport, which can be coordinated on a monthly basis. We have placed over 50 pups in the Pittsburgh area and have a multitude of happy adopters as references.

Interested in learning more about Coco? Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
