Coco's Story

Go coo-coo for Coco!

Hi, pals! My name is Coco. I'm an adorable boy who is just as sweet as my name. I'm a 4-year-old, 41-pound, Terrier mix. I was rescued way down in Aculpoco and snuggled my way up the border into sunny San Diego! When I was rescued, I was in pretty ruff shape. I was hit by a car, severing my tail from my spinal column and leaving me incontinent (aka, I can't control when I need to go). It's not the most glamorous, but I look oh-so-stylish in my doggy diapers. It's an absolute miracle that I can walk let alone run, fetch, and play! Since being rescued, my luck has taken a major turn for the better. I hope my luck continues in a furever home with you!

I'm the friendliest fella who gets along with everyone I meet. I love other pups and people too, kids included! I haven't met any cats yet, so I'm not sure about them. Since doing physical therapy after my accident, I started slowly walking and now I'm up to a full-blown run! I also enjoy playing fetch and being a goofy guy. My favorite activity is being with my humans. I'm the most loyal boy who just loves being loved!

I'm a gentle guy who does well on walks. As I mentioned, being bathroom trained isn't an option for me due to my accident. Instead, I wear doggy diapers so that I can still keep you company in the house. I require a little extra TLC, but I pawmise I'm worth it! I am also on Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Ultamino Dry Dog Food as a requirement.

If you're looking for a lover boy who is as sweet as Coco, I'm your guy. Since I'm such a friendly, gentle fella, I'd do well in a variety of furever homes. As long as I have someone who can care for me physically, I'd be a wonderful addition to any family! It's a miracle that I made it through my accident, made it to San Diego, and now I'm keeping my paws crossed that I'll make it into your loving home! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
