Cochon French Bulldog New Orleans, LA

Cochon (French for Piggy) is a French Bulldog who is definitely different than others. Cochon is very young and loves to play and romp around. He is affectionate, talkative, and constantly looks to people for direction. We don't know what happened to him in his past life, but he is also a very nervous dog. He is wary of new people, loud noises, cars/trucks, and other variables. We think he was likely abused, and then moved to multiple homes by people who saw a cheap or free French Bulldog. Through his trauma and instability, Cochon learned to use his teeth as a defense mechanism, and he will bite at a certain fear threshold. The good news is that he is responding well to patience, consistency, and compassion in his foster home. This sometimes require new people to sit down on the floor and not face him until he is ready to come out and sniff. He is also receiving "positive reinforcement" when he can relax and/or redirect his attention when he is feeling nervous. An ideal home will have no other pets or children, and the patience and commitment to continue this progress. Our goal is to move him just once more into a forever home. Cochon will not be at our adoption events, but we will set up private introductions with people who come to the events to speak with us prior.
