Coby's Story
Coby is about three years old, weighs around 75 pounds, and is a mixed breed pup who looks like he could be hired as security at a biker bar — but emotionally, he’s a big softie who just wants to be wherever you are.

He’s a big, handsome black-and-brown presence with a goofy smile and a thoughtful brain. When Coby walks into a new place, he takes a second to read the room — not nervous, not dramatic — just making sure he understands the situation before jumping in. Once he does, he’s fully on board.

Coby loves people in a genuine, old-friend kind of way. He greets you like it’s been far too long since he last saw you (even if it’s been 30 seconds), then settles in close, content just being part of whatever you’re doing. He’s affectionate without being clingy, confident without being chaotic, and loyal in a very “I’ve got you” kind of way.

He’s smart and appreciates structure — not because he’s a lot, but because he likes knowing the plan. Give him consistency and clear guidance, and he shines. He wants to do the right thing and feels good when he gets it right.

At home, Coby is fully potty trained, crate trained, and knows how to settle. On leash, he might occasionally test whether today is a brisk walk day or a stop-and-sniff-everything day, but he responds well to direction and checks back in with his person. He wants guidance, not drama.

Coby enjoys the company of other dogs, especially ones who match his energy and play style. He’d do best in a home with some space to move and a person who enjoys an active but intentional lifestyle — walks, backyard time, structured play, repeat.

Coby isn’t looking for chaos or a circus. He’s looking for someone steady. Someone who appreciates a solid dog with personality, presence, and a little depth behind the eyes.

If that sounds like your kind of companion, Coby might just be your guy.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Coby is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
